Temporary Overnight Shelter for Homeless Persons Proposed for Port Coquitlam’s Grace Church

The Hope For Freedom Society has applied to the City of Port Coquitlam for a Temporary Use Permit to operate a temporary seasonal overnight shelter at Grace Church, 2606 Kingsway Ave, Port Coquitlam.  The shelter, to be known as the Tri-Cities Bridge Shelter, is proposed to provide nightly accommodation from 9:30 PM – 7:00 AM to homeless persons during the inclement weather months of October – March inclusive.  Operation is proposed to begin in the fall of 2012 and continue during fall and winter months until the permanent emergency shelter and transitional housing facility at 3030 Gordon Ave. in Coquitlam is ready for occupancy, scheduled for late spring 2014.  The City of Port Coquitlam will be providing an opportunity for public input into the Temporary Use Permit application – date, time and location to be announced by the City.  For more information on the Bridge Shelter proposal, click here.
