2011 Metro Vancouver Homeless Count Final Report Released

Metro Vancouver has released the final report on the 24 hour Metro Vancouver homelessness count which took place on March 16, 2011.  Homelessness declined in the Tri-Cities from 94 homeless persons recorded in 2008 to 48 persons in 2011 – a 50% reduction. Although the triennial Metro Vancouver count is by its very nature an undercount, the results do indicate that a concerted community effort has brought about a significant reduction of homelessness in the Tri-Cities.
